wanted to show off my latest creation. I've made pop-up and step cards, but this is my first Exploding Box. A number of different Stamps and CTMH Cricut cartridges provided the embellishments and wording. The only product from my stash was the ribbon and pearls.
With some research on Pinterest and a few U-Tube videos later I merged a few patterns together to come up with this 2 layer wedding themed piece. It was adapted from Argela Lorenz's Single Layer Exploding Box Card.
I added an inside piece done in White Daisy, cut at 10.5" x 10.5". Scored at 3.5 on all 4 sides. Then the 4 corners are cut off.
I just love how it turned out using CTMH's Hello Lovely Paper Pack, along with Sorbet, Sea Glass and White Daisy Cardstock. I distressed all the edges with Desert Sand. The Congrats was from the Artiste CTMH Cricut Cartridge, page 62 and from the Art Philosophy the scroll, page 59 cut at 3/4" and page 69 the Roses cut at 1 1/2 and 1 3/4". Retired aqua dots were used also.
The Happily Ever After is stamped with B1547 Wedding in Desert Sand onto a heart cut in Artistry, page 35 at 2 1/2".
The Family saying is stamped with D1506 - Family Love and Aqua dots were added.
The Mr. and Mrs. is stamped with B1547 Wedding Wishes Occasions in Desert Sand onto a Cricut cut from Flower Market, page 32 @ 3/4". The Rings and below heart were from Artfully Sent.
Cherish, Together, Love, Always and Forever, were all from Art Booking
Below, the Bride and Groom page 61 @ 1 1/2", Mr. & Mrs., page 61, figures page 61 @ 2 1/2" , Wedding, page 62 @ 1 1/4"were all from Artiste.
And last but not least, my favourite part - the cake was made in 3 layers and embellished with White Daisy and Sorbet cardstock. I glazed them with CTMH's Gold Shimmer Brush
The box is folded up, lid put on and when the lid is removed the box "explodes" open.
